A huge line formed outside the Pikes Peak Workforce Center on Friday. Hundreds of people are vying for jobs at a new company opening in Colorado Springs.

More than 500 people braved the heat in hopes of getting a job at the new call center. Affiliated Computer Services is hiring 600 people for call center positions at their new building on Garden of the Gods road.

We spoke to several people in line. They call these openings a blessing, in a tough job market. "I feel like this is a big benefit for the city, and I feel like I can get a job here today," says Angela Randle. Jeroen Casey, 18, is looking for his first job. He says, "It's a rough world in the job market, and I'm just trying to find a way to squeeze in."

Company officials said they hoped to hired qualified people on the spot. There are still a lot of positions open.

There will be another pre-interview session on Saturday, July 11, at Chapel Hills Mall. Company officials will be in the food court from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
